About this tool
Streaming apps play every song at about the same loudness. If your song is louder than their target, they turn it down. See each platform's target, then drop your song in to measure its loudness (LUFS) and true peak and see exactly what each app will do.
Questions
What LUFS should I master to for Spotify?
Spotify normalises to −14 LUFS. Many pop and hip-hop masters are louder (around −10 to −8 LUFS) for punch, and Spotify simply turns them down. Keep the true peak at −1 dBTP or lower.
What is LUFS?
Loudness Units relative to Full Scale: a measure of how loud music sounds to people, not just its peak level.
What is true peak?
The highest level the audio reaches between samples. Above −1 dBTP it can distort when turned into MP3 or AAC.
Is my song uploaded?
No. Everything runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
