About this tool
Too quiet? Normalise the peak to −1 dB for a clean level, set it to a loudness target like −14 LUFS for streaming, or boost it by any amount. A built-in limiter catches the peaks, so it gets louder without clipping or crackling.
Questions
Will boosting distort my audio?
Not with the limiter on: it turns down only the loudest peaks so nothing clips. Very big boosts can sound squashed, so use your ears.
What does normalise mean?
It turns the whole file up or down so its loudest peak hits a set level (here −1 dB), without changing the sound.
How loud should my song be?
For streaming, around −14 LUFS is the target, but many released songs are louder. See the LUFS targets tool.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Everything runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
